Alice Arline Maxton

	Alice Arline Maxton, 87, of DuQuoin, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2000 at the Fair Acres Nursing Center in DuQuoin.
	Mrs. Maxton was a homemaker and had operated Greyhound Bus Depot.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.  She had been a member of the church choir for many years and belonged to the Missionary and Mite Society.
	She was born October 15, 1912 at Christopher, the daughter of Ben and Lula Maud (Beard) Davison.  She married C.R. (Scotty) Maxton on June 29, 1932 at DuQuoin and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2000.
	Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Phyllis (George) Hershey of Menifee, CA and Lula Maxton of DuQuoin; sons, Jerry (Janet) Maxton of DuQuoin and Frank Maxton of DuQuoin; a brother, Benjamin Dale Davison of DuQuoin; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, two sons and three grandchildren.
	Services were Tuesday, March 14 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Charles Hoekstra officiating.  Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery at DuQuoin.
	Friends were able to call after 5 p.m. Monday at Maxton Funeral Chapel in DuQuoin and again Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.
	Memorials may be made to the DuQuoin Fire Department or the donors choice.
